Microtrol: Pioneering Industrial
& Manufacturing Solutions
Founded in 1978, Microtrol was a pioneer in industrial programmable controls for factory machinery. In 1980, president and founder Eddie Faraz merged with Gardner Machines to bring their double disk grinder control technology to the next level by giving the operators a programmable interface to adjust settings and parameters with ease.
In doing so, he developed the Lektrifeed 2 Control system, which he wrote from scratch in the Assembly Programming Language and operated on a G&L (Giddings and Lewis) industrial computer. Following the Lektrifeed 2, the Lektrifeed 3 added more modern and colorful operator interface and editing controls, and the Lektrifeed 4 shifted the hardware to a standard ISA bus Industrial PC, allowing expansion of the available inputs and outputs and a more intricate motion controls for the 2-axis, 3-axis and 4-axis grinders.
A State-Of-The-Art Software Solution
After 20 years of development, we decided that software was the piece of the puzzle that needed to become more universal in scope and function. We believed it was essential to have a program that could work on multi-axis machines with horizontal, vertical, feed-through, rotary, gun-type, and oscillating part options.
As a result of our extensive experience and knowledge in software development for this device type, MICROMATION was born as the first universal control software for double-disc grinders.
A virtually hardware-independent solution, MICROMATION grants you complete control and is fully operational on any Window-based system using standard and comfortably affordable computer parts, cables, and components. Rather than rely on any one vendor for a particular part or set of parts that could incur unnecessarily excessive operational costs, affecting both your bottom line and revenue stream, we’ve effectively cut the middleman out of the equation with our all-in-one control solution!
